Privacy policy

Effective date: 2026-01-04

Product: Crowdly (“we”, “us”)

Website: crowdlyai.com

Contact: support@crowdlyai.com

Crowdly helps creators and small businesses understand audience perception across connected social media accounts. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we share it, how long we keep it, and how you can request deletion or revoke access.

This policy is intended to meet common platform review expectations for Meta (Facebook, Instagram), TikTok, and Google/YouTube API access, including requirements to provide a publicly available privacy policy and clear data deletion instructions.

  1. Who this policy applies to?

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Visitors to our website
  • Users who connect one or more social accounts to Crowdly
  • Anyone who contacts us through forms or email

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of the social media platforms you connect. Those platforms have their own policies.

  1. Information we collect

A) Information you provide to us

  • Account information: name, email address, and any information you submit through forms (for example, contact requests).
  • Support communications: messages you send to us and the information you choose to include.

B) Information we receive from connected social platforms

When you connect a social account, we receive data through the platform’s APIs according to the permissions you grant. Depending on the platform and scopes, this may include:

  • Account and channel information: account or channel ID, handle/username, profile name, profile image URL, page/channel metadata.
  • Content information: post/video IDs, captions/titles, publish times, thumbnails, and other available metadata.
  • Audience feedback and conversation signals: comments and replies, comment timestamps, and other platform-provided conversation objects.
  • Engagement signals (if provided by the platform and you grant access): aggregate counts such as likes, shares, views, reactions, and similar metrics, which can vary by platform and are not always available.

We request and use only the minimum permissions needed to provide the features you enable. (Exact scopes can vary by platform and may change over time.)

C) Authentication and security information

  • OAuth tokens and identifiers: when you connect a platform account, we may store access tokens or refresh tokens (or token references) needed to maintain the connection.
  • Security logs: basic logs to prevent abuse, detect errors, and secure the service (for example, timestamps, IP address, user agent).

D) Website and cookie data

  • Usage data: pages visited, approximate location derived from IP, device type, and similar analytics data.
  • Cookies or similar technologies: used for essential functionality (for example, session management) and optionally for analytics.

If you use a cookie banner, the details of cookies used can be described there or in a separate Cookie Notice.

  1. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide Crowdly features such as overall perception, post-level reactions, and “what changed in perception” analysis.
  • Connect, maintain, and secure integrations with social platforms.
  • Operate and improve the product including debugging, monitoring, fraud prevention, and performance optimization.
  • Communicate with you about support requests, product updates you request, and administrative messages (for example, security notices).
  • Comply with platform policies and legal obligations (for example, responding to valid legal requests).

We do not sell personal information.

  1. How Crowdly generates perception insights

Crowdly may process connected-platform data (such as comments, replies, and post metadata) to identify repeated themes and summarize perception. Crowdly is designed to provide context and patterns, not to determine facts about individuals.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to connect the accounts you connect and to use the connected data for your purposes.

  1. How we share information

We share information only in the following cases:

A) Service providers

We may share limited data with vendors that help us operate Crowdly (for example, hosting, databases, analytics, error monitoring, email delivery). They are permitted to process data only to provide services to us, under contractual obligations.

B) Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or government request
  • Enforce our terms
  • Protect the security or integrity of Crowdly
  • Protect rights, property, or safety of users or others

C) Business changes

If Crowdly is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not share your connected-platform data with third parties for their marketing.

  1. Data retention

Default retention (V1): Crowdly is designed to retain connected-platform content and conversation signals for a limited period. Our current intent is to keep detailed connected data for up to 30 days, unless:

  • A shorter period is required by platform policy or law, or
  • You request deletion sooner, or
  • We need to retain limited logs for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance

We may retain de-identified or aggregated information (that does not identify you or your connected accounts) for product improvement and reporting.
